Mr. Rafique Alam is small farmer having 4 acres of land (leased land). He dropped from schooling due to financial crises and family liability. He tried paddy processing, establishing atta chakki for livelihood but not successes, latter with inspiration of friends and kvk, Kishanganj, he adopted guava cultivation with twisting techniques. He take 4 acres of land on leased basis from his relatives and planting guava. Now the plant of guava aged 5-6 year old and are in full flush. He adopting annual pruning of trees and maintain their round shope canopy. He also adopting tuisting of irreet branches to 5-6 feet hight maintainance of tree and get numerous emergence from every leaf nodes of twigs. According farmer he got fruits 7 month after message (Tuisting) of branches. He harvest twice from their guava plant annually, Md. Alam claimed that he benefitted 5-6 lack annually from their guava orchards. Now he satisfy with his venture and emerged as youth leader for guava cultivation through twisting techniques in the Kishanganj District. Md. Rafique Alam also awarded with Samman from BAU, Sabour in Kisan Mela for his outstanding innerative performance.

Her husband used to grow maize and paddy in his 0.25 ha of land and the return he was getting about Rs 15000 per annum . She joined JEEVIKA in 2018 and got training on Vegetable production from KVK, Kishanganj. She got training on Organic Farming of Dragon fruit under STRY programme at KVK, Kishanganj during 21st to 26th August 2021. After training as she was interested to establish a Dragon fruit orchard, she was provided with 50 dragon fruit plants for the same. After training she started growing chili, tomato and other vegetables in her field and also rearing goat of local breeds. In this way her net annual income increased to about Rs. 1.09 Lakh. |

Nursery After graduating in history he was wandering in search of a job and he worked as insurance agent in Reliance Insurance Company and Bajaj Auto Motors for three years. But he was not satisfied with his job. As his performance in the insurance sector was not up to the mark, he was sacked from the job in 2017. This made him upset. His elder brother was supplying planting materials to IBS centre a government organization in Bengal. Any how he managed to purchase plants of Rs. 15000 from his elder brother and started selling it from door to door in Kishanganj town and nearby villages. His friends and relatives were making mockery of him but he was gaining satisfaction and happiness in dealing with plants. He was determined to take his business further. In due course of time he visited KVK, Kishanganj and got technical and moral support from there. On the suggestion of KVK scientist, he got skill training on Vermicompost Production under ASCI Skill development programme from KVK, Kishanganj in 2018-19. In 2018 he took one acre of land on lease for 10 years in Fulwari village and started Nursery named Shree Plantation of fruit, plants, flowers and ornamental plants. After getting training on Vermicompost production, he started producing Vermicompost in his nearby village and selling it at his nursery. During lockdown period he got an opportunity to sell herbal and medicinal plants from his nursery and fetched good return. |

Para vet. service provider An opportunity to think something different came in his way in 2019 after Singh was informed by KVK scientists that a training programme on artificial insemination conducted by ASCI under skill development programme would be organized by KVK. He registered himself for participation in training programme and was subsequently provided certificate on successful completion of the training programme. Singh who had been receiving institutional support of KVK since he started farming was motivated by KVK personnel to use newly acquired skill of artificial insemination for increasing his income. |

In three- acre farm land the family members of Singh mainly cultivate paddy, maize, jute and oilseed. He started practical application of knowledge of seed treatment besides proper use of pesticide and fertilizer in farming he had acquired in course of pesticide and fertilizer applicator. Singh was able to increase farm output utilizing his knowledge. However, with limited scope of increasing or diversifying farm activities Singh wanted to do something else apart from farming to augment family income. He was in fact waiting for proper opportunity to start something else in addition to farming. Acquiring skill related to para vet services including artificial insemination he established himself as para vet service provider. Singh who on an average earns Rs 1,30,000 annually at present providing para vet services has no remorse having failed to secure conventional job. |

Singh provides preliminary treatment of diseases prevalent in cattle and goats. He has been providing other services such as vaccination for diseases such as FMD, HSBQ, PPR and Brucellosis prevalent in cattle and goats, tagging of cattle stock apart from artificially inseminating and providing them treatment for diseases. |
